Everyone loves the engrossing euphoria of an upcoming trip. Especially if it is so long-awaited. That enthusiasm quickly fades when it comes to the packing bit though…
For the ladies, this moment is a real mind twister and a serious challenge: clothes on the floor, others neatly folded on the bed, some already in the suitcase. We’ve all done the piles of ‘’YES’’ ‘’NO” and MAYBE” and have had the racing thoughts of how much is too much.
Each of us has found themselves into a similar situation. The solution can be found in good preliminary organization. In other words: make a list, darling ladies…sounds easy- it is! The hard part is actually sticking to it! Make sure this happens up to a week before your actual leave.
Firstly, make a simple list of the most important items to take- something like this:
toiletries and make-up
Regarding the swimsuit: make sure to pack more than one pair.Everything happens - it can break, not dry out, get dirty. Get an extra pair of swimsuits just in case.
If you like bikini, take at least 2 pairs.
TIP: Make sure they are from the same brand so you can mix and match them, which will create 4 different pairs.
When it comes to beach accessories, we really believe that’s what brings a nice pair of bikini or swimming costume to life. A matching pareo, beach towel, shorts, beach dress etc. are essentials a real fashionista needs to also consider while packing.
After the beach items comes the moment with the clothes. Make sure to pack enough underwear, more than what you would usually take with you on a regular trip. On a beach holiday when the weather is hot, we tend to take a shower more often. Therefore, for each day of your stay, count two pairs of underwear just in case.
T-shirts and tops
Multiply by 1.5 the number of days of your stay. For example, if your vacation is one week, take 8-9 T-shirts and/or tops, or for example 4 T-shirts and 4 more elegant blouses depending on your personal style.
Shorts and skirts
Number of days multiplied by 0.5 each. So for a week’s holiday take 2-3 pairs of shorts and/or 2-3 skirts. If we divide that further into mini-skirts and maxi skirts- take 2 mini-skirts and 1 maxi skirt.
Here the situation becomes considerably complicated. Depending on the resort you are going to, you need to consider different types of dresses. For one week we would suggest 5 dresses are enough. In those 5 we count the beach dresses as well. Make sure to pack beautiful maxi dresses for the evenings- they are a staple in every self-respected fashionista’s holiday wardrobe.
Combine a pair of shoes and jewelry for each of them. With the jewelry GO BOLD, you are on holiday! Don't forget to choose a suitable outerwear as well, because in the evening, especially at sea, it can get quite chilly.
Slippers, shoes, sandalsHere is the practical part. Get a pair of beach slippers, ones you will go out with during the day and some closed shoes - in case of bad weather. If you are not going to wear dresses that require formal shoes, your closed shoes, loafer or ballerina type will do the job. For the evenings we would suggest you always take a pair of high-heels, maybe 2 so you can match them with your different dresses.
Hats, sunglasses and hair accessories
Be sure not to miss these important holiday accessories. The sun is very strong, so it is necessary to wear a hat on the beach and after noon. The same goes for glasses. Without them it will be difficult for you to enjoy the sunny day.
Once you have made your lists, start arranging everything you need. Make the most of the space - fold diligently, and if necessary - use vacuum bags. This will save space, but will be a tad more difficult when you have to unpack and tidy as your clothes (depending on the fabric) would have creased more than usual.
After all, a holiday is an experience. What matters is how you feel! And a lady always feels better when she is dressed well and feels comfortable and beautiful!
