                Biography
  
                Dr. Manuel Garcia IV grew up in Carrollton, TX, which is an area just outside of Dallas. He moved to Rankin County Mississippi just prior to beginning ninth grade. It was at Pearl High School that he met his wife. He and his wife have two daughters that are ages 7 and 11. Dr. Garcia began his higher education at Holmes Community College in Ridgeland, MS where he obtained an Associate degree in business management and was awarded the Business Student of the Year Award. He then took his college experience to Mississippi State University, where he obtained a Bachelor Degree in business administration. At Mississippi State University he was a member of the Shackouls Honor College and a member of the dean’s advisory board. Upon graduation Dr. Garcia worked as a middle school teacher. While teaching at the middle school level, he obtained a Master Degree in Business Administration online through Jackson State University’s accelerated online program. Upon completion of his MBA he applied to and was accepted to Jackson State University's doctoral program. He successfully defended his dissertation on July 27, 2017. His research looks at intranational cultures and the impact of these cultures on employee retention. When he is not working Dr. Garcia enjoys playing and watching soccer as well as spending time with his family.
